Laser hair removal for men in Düsseldorf: the short answer

Laser hair removal for men permanently¹ removes thick body hair on the back, chest, shoulders, neck, beard line and intimate area in 8 to 12 sessions; at Laserazor, a full back costs 152 € and full back + shoulders 209 € per session in a package of 10.

Men's hair is usually thicker, darker and denser than women's hair. That's great for the laser, as lots of pigment absorbs plenty of energy, ensuring the root is reliably targeted. But it also means larger areas, more hairs per square centimetre and a more noticeable sensation during the first few sessions. This guide covers the zones and prices for men, breaks down the combo packages, and explains beard contouring, working out around your appointments, and what to expect at the new studio at Elisabethstraße 30, 40217 Düsseldorf, opening in January 2027.

Zones and prices for men

The back of the neck costs 37 € per session in a 10-session package and takes ten minutes, while a full back is 152 € for 40 minutes. Prices apply per complete zone and are the same in all Laserazor studios, for both men and women.

Back and shoulders are the classics, simply because they're so hard to shave yourself. Some men get their entire chest and stomach lasered, while others just go for specific areas like the snail trail or the areolas. Above the shoulders, it's usually about the back of the neck, the front of the neck and the cheeks – essentially, a clean beard line. If you only want to treat your upper or lower back, choose "upper or lower back" for 86 € per session in a 10-session package. All zones for men are also listed under hair removal for men, and you'll find details on the back and chest under back and chest.

Combos: back with shoulders, chest with stomach

The full back + shoulders combo package costs 209 € per session in a 10-session package and takes 40 minutes, full chest + stomach + shoulders is 209 € for 30 minutes. Both are cheaper than booking the same zones individually.

If you want your entire upper body hair-free, front and back, just book both combos. In a 10-session package, that's 418 € per appointment and 4.180 € for ten sessions. From a total price of 300 €, you can pay in 12 instalments at 0 % interest, which works out to 348,33 € a month for the whole upper body. If you want everything done at once, check out the full body option for 519 € per session in a 10-session package. All package prices are listed in the guide Laser hair removal Düsseldorf: prices.

Beard contour, cheeks and neck: shaping your beard

The laser can permanently¹ define your beard line: cheeks above the contour and neck below it, while the beard itself stays. The cheeks and the neck each cost 37 € per session in a 10-session package. Cheeks take 10 minutes, the neck takes 15 minutes.

Since the results last, it pays to be precise with the line. Map it out with your specialist before your first session and play it a bit safe to start with. You can always take more off later, but you can't undo a line that's been taken too low. Many men choose to laser their neck specifically because razor bumps and ingrown hairs are so common there. Once the hair stops growing, you can skip the daily shave in that area.

There are two limitations. Grey and white beard hairs don't respond to any laser, and red ones only partially. Also, if you decide to change your beard style later, a lasered area won't grow back. So take your time deciding on the shape before you start your sessions. The neck and sideburns cost 37 € per session each in a 10-session package, and both blend in nicely with your beard contour.

Full intimate area for men

The full intimate area for men takes 15 minutes and costs 149 € for a single session and 86 € per session in a 10-session package, exactly the same as for women. The hair there is usually quite thick, which is why the area responds well, but it's also one of the more sensitive ones.

Discretion is part of the service: the specialist explains every step beforehand, and you can take a break at any time. If you only want a specific part lasered, just let us know during the skin type check. You can find out what you need to know about safety in the intimate area in our guides Laser hair removal for the intimate area in Düsseldorf and Laser hair removal for the intimate area: safe and thorough.

What it feels like: back, chest and intimate area

The thicker and darker the hair, the more heat is generated per pulse, which is why men usually feel the first sessions more intensely than the later ones. It feels like a quick, warm pinch. It's usually quite tolerable on the back, but stronger on the chest, neck and in the intimate area.

The cooling right before each pulse absorbs a lot of the heat. With every session, there's less hair, making the treatment more comfortable. If it gets too much, just say so: the specialist can take breaks. Afterwards, your skin will be red for a few hours, and small swellings might appear around the follicles, but these will go down on their own. The risks of using the wrong energy level are described by the Federal Office for Radiation Protection, and you can read more about what it feels like in our guide Low-pain laser hair removal.

Skin types, dark hair and grey hair

Dark, thick hair on light skin responds particularly well to Alexandrit 755 nm, while for dark or tanned skin we use Nd:YAG 1064 nm. Both wavelengths are available in all Laserazor studios, including in Düsseldorf.

I verbrennt immer Alexandrit II verbrennt leicht Alexandrit III bräunt langsam Alexandrit IV bräunt leicht Alexandrit oder Nd:YAG V bräunt stark Nd:YAG VI sehr dunkel Nd:YAG
Fitzpatrick skin types (1988) and the wavelength we use to treat them. This matching is a rule of thumb; the skin type check and test pulses before the first session are what really count.

The skin types according to Fitzpatrick 1988 range from I to VI. According to Ibrahimi and colleagues 2011, Nd:YAG is considered the safest choice for dark skin types because it penetrates deeper and is absorbed less by the pigment in the epidermis. For skin type IV, the test pulses will decide. Grey hairs on the chest, stomach or in the beard, however, don't respond to any laser. If you already have a few grey hairs, you should start sooner, while most of them are still pigmented.

Sports, fitness and sauna: how to plan your sessions

On the day of your treatment, you should take a break from sports, saunas and the sun, so it's best to schedule your session on a rest day or in the evening after your last workout. You can get back to your normal routine the next day, as long as your skin is no longer red.

If you work out at the gym, you know all about back hair, sweat, and the hassle of shaving. After your series of sessions, you won't need to shave there anymore, and the skin under your shirt can calm down because there's no more friction from stubble. Runners and cyclists along the Rhein should especially keep sun protection in mind: your neck, shoulders, and arms get a lot of light in summer, and the area needs to be kept out of the sun for two weeks before each session. Find out more about skincare under Preparation and aftercare.

The process for men: from shaving to the final session

The series starts with a 0 € trial session, followed by a session every six to eight weeks, 8 to 12 in total. The back and chest usually need the upper end of that range because the areas are large and the hair is dense.

  1. Beforehand. No waxing, epilating, or plucking for four weeks, and keep the area out of the sun for two weeks. Shave 12 to 24 hours before your appointment, including your back – get someone to help if you need to.
  2. Skin type check. Our specialist will ask about any medication, skin conditions, and sun exposure, determine your skin type, and do a few test pulses.
  3. Treatment. With protective goggles and cooling before every pulse. The back of the neck takes ten minutes, chest + stomach + shoulders take 30 minutes, and full back + shoulders take 40 minutes.
  4. Afterwards. You might have slight redness for a few hours. No sports, sauna, or sun on the day of your treatment. Use SPF 50 on the area for two weeks.
  5. Two to three weeks later. The hairs loosen and fall out. What looks like regrowth during this time is often just the hairs being pushed out.
  6. Next session. After six to eight weeks, until the area is completely done.

Treatments are carried out by specialists certified according to the NiSV. If you're taking medication that makes your skin sensitive to light, or if you have a skin condition in the treatment area, please check with a doctor first. Frequently Asked Questions

How much does laser hair removal for the back cost for men in Düsseldorf?

A full back at Laserazor costs 269 € for a single session and 152 € per session in a package of 10. Combined with shoulders, it's 209 € per session, or 2.090 € for the full series of ten sessions. These prices will also apply in Düsseldorf from January 2027.

How much is laser hair removal for the chest and stomach?

A full chest and full stomach each cost 81 € per session in a package of 10. The combined package for full chest + stomach + shoulders is better value at 209 € per session in a package of 10, which takes 30 minutes.

Can I just get my beard line lasered?

Yes. We only laser the cheeks above and the neck below the line; the beard itself stays. The cheeks and neck each cost 37 € per session in a 10-session package. Because the results are permanent, you'll decide on the exact line with your specialist beforehand.

How many sessions does the back need?

Usually 8 to 12 sessions spaced six to eight weeks apart. For the back, it's usually towards the higher end because the area is large and the hair is dense. A full back session takes around 40 minutes. The entire course of treatment takes about one to one and a half years.

Does laser hair removal hurt more for men?

Thick, dark hair generates more heat per pulse, which is why you'll usually feel the first few sessions a bit more. It feels like a quick, warm pinch – stronger on the chest, neck, and intimate area than on the back. The cooling before each pulse takes away a lot of the heat, and as you get less hair, it gets more comfortable with every session.

When can I work out again after laser treatment?

On the day of your session, you shouldn't work out, use the sauna, or go in the sun. You can work out normally the next day as long as your skin is no longer red. It's best to schedule your session on a rest day and protect the treated zone with SPF 50 for two weeks.

Does the laser work on grey chest or beard hair?

No. Grey and white hair has no pigment and doesn't react to any laser; red hair only responds partially. If you already have some grey hairs, it's best to start sooner rather than later, while most of your hair is still dark.

Can I get my intimate area lasered as a man?

Yes. A full intimate laser session for men takes 15 minutes and costs 86 € per session in a 10-session package – exactly the same as for women. The treatment is carried out discreetly by specialists certified under NiSV, who will explain every step to you beforehand.

When can I start in Düsseldorf?

The studio at Elisabethstraße 30, 40217 Düsseldorf opens in January 2027. Until then, you can join the waiting list at laserazor.de/standorte/duesseldorf and you'll receive an invitation to the first appointments, including a 0 € trial session for a full zone. Packages from other Laserazor studios are also valid there.

¹ 'Permanent' means: after a complete series, no hair that the laser has reached will grow back in the treated zone. No laser can reach grey, white and very light hairs. Hormonal changes can trigger new growth, in which case a top-up session is usually enough.
