Why Unterbilk: short distances between Kö and Medienhafen

The studio is located around 200 m from the Kirchplatz underground station and around 400 m from the southern end of Königsallee. This means you can reach it from the city centre, Hauptbahnhof and Medienhafen in just a few minutes. For laser hair removal, this is exactly what counts: a course consists of 8 to 12 sessions spaced six to eight weeks apart, so you'll be visiting us regularly for about a year to a year and a half. Having a studio on your daily commute makes it much easier not to miss an appointment.

Unterbilk is part of Stadtbezirk 3 and borders Friedrichstadt, Bilk and Medienhafen. Elisabethstraße is close to Kirchplatz and the St. Peter church, and just a few steps away is Lorettostraße with its cafes and small shops. If you work in Medienhafen or around the Landtag, it's easy to fit short appointments into your working day: underarms take ten minutes, full intimate takes 15 minutes.

What the studio offers: two wavelengths, cooling, expertise

In Düsseldorf, just like in all Laserazor studios, we work with two wavelengths: Alexandrit 755 nm for light to medium skin and Nd:YAG 1064 nm for dark and tanned skin. Right before every pulse, the device cools the skin. This means we can treat all skin types from I to VI. The only limit is hair colour: grey, white and light blonde hair doesn't respond to any laser, and red hair only partially.

Treatments are carried out by specialists with expertise according to the NiSV, the regulation that has applied nationwide to hair removal with lasers and IPL since 31.12.2020. Before your first session, we do a skin type check and test pulses, then the specialist determines the wavelength and energy for your zone. After the complete series, the zone is permanently¹ hair-free. You can find out how the process works and how it differs from IPL, diode and waxing in our guide Permanent hair removal in Düsseldorf. The two wavelengths are explained in detail in Alexandrit or Nd:YAG.

Prices: the same as in Berlin, München, Augsburg and Hamburg

Underarms cost 79 € for a single session and 48 € per session in a 10-session package in Düsseldorf, just like in all other Laserazor studios. There is no Düsseldorf surcharge. Prices apply per complete zone.

What applies until the opening

Packages you buy in a Laserazor studio are valid for 24 months and in all studios, which means from January 2027 they'll also be valid in Düsseldorf. If you move to the Rhein from Berlin, München, Augsburg or Hamburg, you can just continue your series in Unterbilk. Your previous sessions still count, so you don't have to start from scratch.

Winter is a great time for anyone just starting out. Before every session, the rule is: no sun and no fake tan on the treatment area for two weeks. That's easy in January. If you start in January and come in every six to eight weeks, you'll have three to four sessions done by summer. Until we open, there's just one thing to keep in mind: wax, epilators and tweezers destroy the hair root, which the laser needs later. Shaving, on the other hand, is fine at any time.

Jobs in Düsseldorf: Specialists with NiSV qualifications wanted

Laserazor is looking for specialists with NiSV qualifications for Düsseldorf. You can find our open positions on the careers page. We currently have 16 specialists with this qualification working across our existing studios.

This qualification is mandatory for anyone using laser or IPL for human hair removal. In NRW, the district governments monitor compliance, and anyone operating lasers for commercial hair removal must notify the relevant authority before starting. Our guide NiSV in NRW: Who is allowed to laser? explains what this means for clients.

Who the studio is for: Düsseldorf and the Rheinland

From January 2027, Düsseldorf will be the nearest Laserazor studio for Köln, Bonn, Leverkusen, the Ruhrgebiet, the Niederrhein and the Bergische Land. Laserazor doesn't have a studio in Köln or the Ruhrgebiet. From many cities, you can reach the main station in half an hour by regional transport, and from there it's just a few minutes by tram to Unterbilk.

Estimated regional transport times, depending on the connection
FromConnectionTravel time to Düsseldorf Hbf
Neuss HbfS-Bahn, RE10 to 15 mins
Duisburg HbfRE, S112 to 20 min
Köln HbfRE1, RE5, ICE22 to 30 min (ICE faster)
Wuppertal HbfRE4, S820 to 30 min
Krefeld HbfRE25 to 35 min
Essen HbfRE1, RE2, RE625 to 35 min

The travel times are rounded estimates; you can find current connections via the VRR timetable. A simple calculation helps with planning: 8 to 12 sessions spaced six to eight weeks apart means one trip roughly every two months for about a year to a year and a half. So if you're coming from Köln, you'll travel around eight to twelve times. Routes from the districts and surrounding areas are in the guide Directions from districts and surrounding areas, for Köln in the guide Laser hair removal for Köln, and for the whole state under Laser hair removal in NRW.
